Chicago PD Season 4 – Platt and a surprising case connection

We know that there hasn’t been a whole lot of Platt news as of late when it comes to Chicago PD — as a matter of fact, we also know that there have been a number of challenges for the character. After all, with Burgess up in Intelligence now, it’s been a little bit harder to find interesting ways to connect her to the story.

Luckily, we do have a little bit more news now regarding the upcoming May 3 episode of the series, which carries with it the title of “Fagin.” This is going to be the debut of Tracy Spiridakos (Revolution) in the role of Detective Hailey Upton, someone who works with the Robbery-Homicide Unit and could have some tension with Voight almost immediately. Both this unit and Intelligence are going to be at the scene of a bank robbery, and according to NBC, you’re going to be seeing quite a bit of head-butting when it comes to the two parties.

As for how Trudy Platt is going to factor into this episode as a whole, let’s just say that she and Upton have some sort of history … and it’s serious enough for Spiridakos’ character to be shocked to run into her. It’s not fair precisely how deep their history is, but it could be something worth exploring. One of the good things about Platt is that she is sometimes so quiet about her own past that it allows for so many storytelling avenues after the fact. We don’t know all that much about her history before the start of season 1, and this could mark a good opportunity to learn more about her.

As for what else we know that we’re going to be getting in this episode, be prepared to see Lindsay make a rather critical decision in the heat of the robbery. Specifically, she’s going to be shocked to uncover just who is hiding under one of the masks as she starts to see the situation unfold.

Overall, we expect that this is going to be a critical episode in setting up the remainder of the season. After all, there are only two more that are going to be airing after “Fagin” this season…
