In episode 4 of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 14, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) goes into surgery, but she will be the one under the knife. Meanwhile, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Jackson (Jesse Wiliams) fall into an awkward relationship.
On the next episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 14, titled “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head,” Amelia will go into surgery to get her huge tumor out. However, Shepherd doesn’t seem confident that she’ll be coming out of her surgery alive.
As seen from on the episode 4 promo, Amelia opens up about her fears while preparing to shave off her hair for the surgery.
“When you’re going into surgery, you worry you won’t wake up,” Amelia says.
But Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) comforts Amelia by shooing away her fears. “You are not going to die,” Meredith tells her partly shaven sister-in-law.
Meanwhile, Jackson and Maggie will find themselves in an awkward situation because of how they feel for each other, despite the fact that they’re somewhat related.
According to the episode listing from The Futon Critic, Maggie and Jackson will feel the tension during an awkward family dinner.
In an interview with TVLine, co-showrunner Krista Vernoff teased that the fact that Maggie and Jackson are “stepsiblings” will add a lot of laughs into their developing romance.
“I am aware that Jackson and Maggie’s parents are married to each other, and we are not avoiding that conversation. … That story is bringing a lot of comedy and fun to the season,” the showrunner revealed.
There have been speculations that Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) might be coming back to “Grey’s Anatomy” because of her short appearance in the season 14 premiere. However, Vernoff shut down the rumors and said that “it’s not happening.”
“I don’t want people imagining or hoping it will and then being disappointed. … She’s not coming back this season,” Vernoff said.
“Grey’s Anatomy” season 14 airs every Thursday night at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
